Tjaynera Falls (Sandy Creek) - 4WD only check road conditions.

Nestled in an open valley, luxuriant with paperbarks, relax and enjoy the usually un-crowded plunge pool.

Camping is available with toilet and shower facilities.

This waterfall is accessable by 4WD only. A small campground is available with toilets and showers. There is approximately 1.4kms walk to the pool at the base of the falls. The car park is on the site of a timber cutting camp used during the mid 1900's when Paperbark & Cypress was cut as Mill Timber.

During the wet season the 4WD access road will be subject to closure.

Even at some times in the wet season the water level over the sealed raod is even to high to pass through. We suggest you vist the Ranger's Headquarters in batchelor or the Batchelor - Litchfield Tourist Vistor Information Centre.

Blyth Homestead - 4WD accessible.

Access to the homestead is by four wheel drive only.

It also features numerous waterfalls which cascade from a sandstone plateau called the Tabletop Range, intriguing magnetic termite mounds, historical sites, and the weathered sandstone pillars of the Lost City.

How To Get To Litchfield National Park

Near Batchelor, 100 km south-west of Darwin, the Park is generally accessible all year (sealed roads) via Batchelor. In the dry season it is also possible to get to the Park via Cox Peninsula Road (which is unsealed).

When To Visit Litchfield National Park

This Park is spectacular at any time, though most 4WD tracks are closed during the wet season. Some swimming areas such as Wangi Falls, become unsafe after heavy rain and are closed for swimming but kiosk and picnic facilities remain open.

What To See And Do In Litchfield National Park

There are many camping areas located throughout the Park, as well as picnic areas and bushwalking tracks. Some waterholes are safe to swim in.
